Oh Alison, such a moving post, so well expressed and thoughtful, I wish you strength.

Such deep sadness for your family. I am sending lots of hugs and good wishes for you all, and hope you can get through this difficult time.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear of your brother-in-law's illness. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you all to get through this.

Massive hugs back to you. Much love.

laughter, dignity and warmth will see you through everything.

sending you and your family lots of hugs and love and warmth

What a moving post. With that heart and mind, you will be able to help the elders through what will be a most trying and life-changing time.

It is amazing to me how people love, live, laugh, cry, talk, argue, sing, hope and cope in the presence of food. And how memories are produced and nurtured in the presence of food, in all cultures, with people of all ages.

having lost my fiance 10 years ago to leukemia, you post has put me back into his hospital rooms.

I send you strenght and love to your whole family.

Fog in both pictures and words with moments of brightness and clarity in between
I am sorry to hear of this difficult time...

I am a reader of your beautiful written blog. I read it because you live in Australia (been there ones) and because you like to work with your hands like me.

So, although I do not realy know you, I sympathize with you. Been there with my father, but he is getting better now. Take care and I am sure that laughter helps.

Love from the Netherlands.

I'm sorry. The photo is so fitting - such a still and quiet time of the morning.

Wishing you and your family strength and grace Alison.

I send love and thoughts for peace to you and your family. It is such a hard time and I do hope you all get through with the dignity, love and warmth you all need. xx
