I share your liking for boxes - I even have one (from Prague) very similar to the one in your image. I think what attracts me is the notion of containment and security they imply.

What a great list! There are so many things on here that I love too. On sad days I make these lists to remind myself of all of the things I have to be happy for.

Parrots in trees!

I kept finding myself saying 'yes' when reading this.... I love balls of wool, boxes, yes, and on..... so many simple pleasures....

I love the idea of cocooning. It's the right time of year to nest build, to protect and comfort our friends and our families. Maybe the credit crunch will help us all acknowledge and appreciate the comforts we do have. Lists of love are such great things and a contrast to the lists of wants and 'to-dos' that we're usually making.

michele

very nice list. makes me feel happier just reading it. also a fine photograph.

I can feel your internal freedom and calmness today, which is allowing your thoughts to flow out onto the page. A nice place to be.
And also agree with Janice's comment about the credit crisis allowing us time to realize how fortunate we are, to look around our little abodes and appreciate our collections, and maybe even use some of them.

this reminds me of the lovely chapter in amelie the film where the narrators tells us of the characters likes and dislikes. it's fun thinking thoughts like that.

alison likes little tails dangling from balls of freshly wound wool. she dislikes messiness and disorder. she likes timber boxes from far away, their aromas reminding her of forgotten times...

i have a little timber box a bit like that - from japan. maybe it'll need to come out to play soon. once the swift arrives.

Noo

Ooo. Glasvegas. Love them!

Wine Blog

Talking in restaurants over wine! Sounds like my favorite thing to do.
