A pillow of lists.
A pillow for the first blogger.
A pillow of thoughts.
A pillow book.
A pillow of linen.
A pillow of words.
Louet euroflax linen yarn, Larissa's The Pillow Of Sei Shonagon from Knitalong, linen fabric from Linnet.
A knit project which combines textures and patterning in an eyelet design with text from Sei Shonagon woven through it. Contemplative text which finds joy in small things. Knitting with linen is not one of my joys as I discovered, but on a small project like this I can handle it. It is tactile, and neutral, and a wonderful canvas for the text to work against. I am always drawn to ways in which text can be used to describe something - not merely on paper or bound in a book, but also those ways which use the text itself as a form of expression. Tattoos which engrave the body, etching life and moment deep into the skin - as an aside, the visual delicacy of The Pillowbook is one of my favourites - turning a body and skin into a book of love and life, immortalised forever.
A pillow for all who blog.write.think.
That's the loveliest knitting project I've seen in a long time.

Alison, this is gorgeous. I love it. You did beautiful work on this, and it's completely breathtaking. I don't know how to thank you for making this and letting me see your work on one of my patterns.
And I love how different it is from mine. I am always in awe of how each of us brings our own hand to our knitting projects. I'm so happy to see this.

That is a really beautiful project Al!
I'm thinking if I lined up the ribbon on a card, painted it, and then threaded it.....
It is absolutely stunning. Is the text your own?
