We're all sick here, and looking for some comfort. Looking to be swathed in soft fabrics, sew soothing hems and knit with luscious wools while hoping our heads don't explode. The wool - hand dyed sock yarn from my favourite Etsy seller RubySapphire Yarns in Avril colour, Tenderfoot yarn. I can't say enough good things about this yarn (oooh, I just saw they're going to do a sock club...). The socks - Roza's Socks by Grumperina from Interweave I started ages ago and am finally getting past the toe of as I slowly snatch time on them through the evenings. The fabric - a slubby woven wool with a bleached/underdyed portion that I bought a while ago, that has become a simple folded scarf with the asymetric postioning of a button hole and a long oblong button. Scarves always have a lovely opening/closure element to them, a nice 'made' hole, so to speak. Add a neat little buttonhole and a feature button, offset at different edges, and you manipulate the fold to drape and close around the neck.
Soft envelopes all, for a sore throat, feet and head.
I hope you're all feeling better soon.

Thanks for the link to the sock yarn. I would definitely sign up for the club. I always miss out on the other :-( I am not a big sock knitter yet, but I would love to make more. Their yarns were very inspiring!
Feel better soon!

Your work is always amazing. I hope everyone gets well soon...both my kids are sick as well; they seem to catch colds often.

hope you are all feeling better soon.
your wrap is gorgeous. i've been thinking you might like the Fulled Drop-Stitch Wrap featured in the Spring 07 Knitscene mag. have you seen it? the holes in it remind me of your recent comment about exploring holes in knitting.
unfortunately Interweave doesn't have a photo of the wrap on their website but if you haven't seen it and would like to let me know and i will e-mail you a photo of the wrap.

Oh but it is a small world - but I love how the circles intersect, and the thread is woven/ knitted (corny enough?!?!?!)
Great to catch up and I love the scarf
