This last week has been just lovely. I am feeling so relaxed and calm - the sun finally coming out had a lot to do with it. I've pottered around doing a little bit of this, and a little bit of that. I've finished. I've discovered. I've waited. I've started.
Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Quick nap. Tea. Waiting. Toilet.
A bit of sewing. A private commission piece - another Flounce bag, plus a little something extra (which is a surprise) for Marla. The quilt for Petite 6.5st now finished. Relief!!! The original idea got toned down substantially as The Will of The Quilt and The Will of The Quilter clashed mid battlefield. Lack of Energy rode in on a white horse and dictated the outcome. It's simpler, has basically no top quilting, but is soft, snuggly, utilitarian and sweet.
Waiting. Waiting.
I could go and buy some more material. A quick phone call to Material Obsessions and I'm off to secure more Etsuko Furuya Echino material. The bedspread went from the beige spider, to the green spider colour way, to purple flowers, to ladybugs and back to beige spiderway with deep purple backing. Cushions will be made with some of the other materials I bought from the collection. Now I need buttons.
Waiting. Toilet. Waiting. Quick nap. Toilet.
Prints Charming are having a sale. Breakfast with Bel, and cash handed over on behalf of Nic for even more fabric pieces.
Waiting. Meandering through the internet.
Discovering beauty, humour and inspiration on flickr. Wee Birds :: Paper Art :: Toys :: Recovered Bouncer :: Paper Pin. The bouncer gave me ideas. So I meandered through my fabric stash - I have no energy for even more things to add to my project list, but it's not stopping me. Apparently. Enjoying the following posts. Jane's new saucy side :: Allison's emotional birth story :: Arc's belly :: Stephanie's WIP :: Anna's reveal of The Crafter's Companion - I'm so excited to see the cover ;) and to finally be getting closer to seeing the book as a living piece.
Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
Petite 6.5st . 12 days and counting. Or possibly 26 days. Pray for the earlier count. Max has gone to the south coast with grandparents. He's having a great time. All I will hear about is the red train. Mr 6.5st has been home pottering, doing stuff, clearing rooms, setting up furniture.
Waiting. Tea.
Parcels have arrived. Many, many parcels have arrived. Many for another post. 3 parcels for the Teeny Tiny Swap. Proof of Max's joy dispersed across the house.
Nap. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
Hot weather seeping through the house along with horrendous winds - blowing dust and dirt across everything. Sunlight bathing the living areas. Lying in bed listening to the parrots calling across the neighbourhood. The sound of a train in the distance. Icecream. Rice salads. Bare feet. The cats enjoying heat induced stupors.
Waiting.
Lovely post al. YAAAAY There's your gorgeous kitties. Look how big the little one is now. Sooo sweet. Quilt looks absolutely divine.

I love this post. It should be published as a poem.
It's wonderful that you feel well and relaxed in the waiting. So often it's the opposite. Yay. Thinking of you, Alison.....

So quickly in the early months, so slowly in the end.
Hang in there, not long now... :)

It sounds very nice over at your house and good to hear you enjoying the wandering days. I hope the calm holds for as long as it can. Very impressed you are still thinking of projects. I seem to recall the last days filled with videos on the couch and lot of vacant staring...

the waiting...ugh. you seem to be dealing with it with quite a bit more grace than I did. Love the petite 6.5sts quilt by the way! and if you feel up to it, please share some pics of the projects that you're doing with the echino fabric, pretty please!

I know what will end the waiting! We can plan a get together for Friday and you will top all my illness excuses by doing something spectacular like having a baby...
