It seems October is going to be a very busy month on the Finished Object front. Not least of which is because this lovely little book is being released on October 18th. It's hard to believe that about a year ago Anna approached us to contribute to a craft book, and here it is: months of planning, editing, writing our contributions, designing patterns, making patterns, writing up patterns, and taking photographs have finally come together in what can only be described as a very beautiful book - from the copy edit of my section, I can say it trully has been put together beautifully. 17 crafters have written about their work, what inspires them, how they work, and their work environment, and each of us have contributed a pattern as well. My little contribution is a knitted pouch - with knitted elements, shibori felt elements, sewn stuff, and sashiko embroidery.
And to buy this book of gorgeousness?? EASY! The book will be available at Amazon UK, and by Pre Order at Snowbooks, and to make it a little easier, you can use the Pre Order button located on my sidebar as well (note you are ordering from Snowbooks, not from me direct). there are plans to release direct in the states and Australia, but nothing I can confirm yet, and not till next year at least.
So, umm, yeah - Go Buy It Now!!
yay!

Done. Actually, I ordered two. I was just hanging out with a girlfriend and fellow crafter at a local bookstore and we were bemoaning the fact that the ideas in the current books are so outdated. By the time they get what is in published, it's long been accomplished by the blog craft community.
We wanted the bloggers to write a book.
Lo and behold -- such a book!

I preordered, but I am thinking I will order one or two more and have one be the "Fast Friday Freebie" giveaway on my [semi-crafty] blog for the end of October.
I love seeing the bottom right hand corner pic on the front cover. When I saw that on a blog last year, I printed the picture out so I could remember it for my first real-ish quilts that I'm making for my kids.
Can I call Petite 6.5 "3.25" in my head?
Feel well!
