Shula

(happily, and with a little victory dance....)

It's pink, it's pink, it's pink!

ps. I felt the same way about ladybirds, as a child

Ah - that is perfect for berry picking. Pesky parents will never be able to see how many are held tightly to a small child's ribs under that elegant cape.

Too charming. :)

Patricia

Oh, how I love thee 'little capelet'

You tell me so many stories, you give my mind so many lovely images. You give me such warmth. You have captured my imagination.

another beautiful tale...the caplet is most adorable...great job!

We mothers, it is so funny for me now. I have the same thoughts even now that my sons are teenage. But the thing is, the memories I have of them and the ones they keep are sometimes so different. We just have to keep doing what we do for them and they will have great memories, all their own.
Beautiful color on the capelet.

I had a little cape (and matching hat) that my grandmother made for me, of which I have very vivid memories. I'm sure you are making wonderful memories for your children without even realizing it!

you know the jacket i remember most from my childhood? well, there are 2 - and both pink...
a pink and brown ski jacket for when we went to the snow - and a pink [hot] members only jacket....
:)

there's some berry picking in there too and lots of handmade ponchos from my grandma

greenolive

maybe when she is a little older she'll appreciate just how much of yourself you gave her in those hand sewn and hand knitted clothes.

martha

oh, she will remember. maybe not this one -she is now so young, but soon. The clothing, which is like shelter for the body, will be closely linked to her memory just as memory and place/space are always so closely linked.
I have such a strong memory of a poncho my mother made me....

I love the way you write, it is so beautiful...I totally relate to your desire to give beautiful memories to your children made out of love not of consumism and disposable material stuff. I added a link to your blog in my blog. I hope some day you stop by.

sam lamb

oh, it's wonderful. and with a colour like that, pia is sure to remember it!

Rebecca

a lovely post and a reminder as to why I wanted to be a mother

Jeannette

I'm VERY interested in making this for myself, it would be perfect for our upcoming trip to Spain! How many stitches would you add for an adult version?
