I'LL TELL YOU WHY
There is only one reason needed, for why one should never, ever, let two children play with an unwound skein of wool and pretend it is 'hair' and use it as a wig.
2 hours.
2 hours it took to untangle and rewind.

The things we do for some peace & quiet and pay for it later.

Kids....funny how you never find that when you turned your back that they tidied up the lounge room or separated the whites & colours in the laundry basket...hmmm....

I think it's called entropy--left alone things will progress to the utmost disorder. That's what happens in my house... My son likes to play with yarn too!

I bet they had fun and in the end that's all that matters....making yarn fun for our little ones!

Terrible.
I hate that. Even from this distance and knowing it is done (amazing, Alison!)... cannot look at it.

what a tangled web they weave
what a pain to fix. i've actually gotten my yarn into terrible spots like this and i always have to have my husband fix it as it drives me insane to try to fix it

oh i know this scenario all too well. it is a favorite pass-time for my 2yr old. she loves to use the wool-winder and pretend to knit.

At least you had the excuse that it was the 2 kids, I have singlehandedly done that myself! Beautiful shot though.

this reminds me of the time i was talking on the phone while knitting and my three year old daughter wanted my attention so badly she grabbed my skein of yarn and ran around the house in a loop several times before i realized what was happening. funny thing is, now she is a knitter herself.

oh my. you know what’s sad, i’ve tangled my own yarn so badly that it took 2 hours to fix… and i don’t even have kids. maybe it would have been more fun if i had used it as a wig first? xoxo
