I'LL TELL YOU WHY
There is only one reason needed, for why one should never, ever, let two children play with an unwound skein of wool and pretend it is 'hair' and use it as a wig.
2 hours.
2 hours it took to untangle and rewind.

But... you could have called it 'minimalist art by two up-and-coming artists' ;)

Ouch. It pains me to look at that picture. I know, it means they had fun, but still--ouch.

Yikes! Not too good. At least you got it rewound and didn't have to throw it out.

Oh god! Untangling yarn is one of my most hated of hates...I would have tossed it. But it looks gorgeous so I am glad you were able to salvage it!

Oh, ow. That picture drew an actual physical wince from me the moment it popped up on the screen. "You know you're a fiber nerd when..."

Oh, good god. That is among my worst nightmares. I hope you had a cocktail or something after it was all over. Untangling a skein of yarn for two hours is worth a good stiff drink...or two.

oh dear, i think everyone who crafts and has kids has suffered similar!. i made some wet felted balls last week and my son tried to eat them (he's 2), he nibbled on 4 of them before deciding that perhaps he didn't like the taste.

Ouch! Yikes! Sigh. My boys now know that they can only play with my cheap yarn. Unfortunately, my bulldog has a hankering for the expensive yarn...
