VESSEL WEDNESDAY #7

Nothing like "stuffing latex rubber condoms with hard boiled eggs" for achieving a nice form. 'Tis amazing what information you uncover about things you've bought in the name of Vessel Wednesday.
The Egg Vase sits atop D+G wool pinstripe fabric (only the best) which is being sewn into a reverse kimono top, and dark charcoal grossgrain ribbon which will also be used on the reverse kimono top. It's been a week of cutting patterns and pinning, in that ever decreasing hope the pins will sew themselves up. I love cutting fabric - with the little frisson of excitement that comes from a fear of messing it all up and never being able to rectify it. I have a pile. I am working my way through it. I am spurred on by those who bought, and ordered, linen dresses this week (oh how the heart sings! Thankyou).

I think that you are a rare person...cutting out fabric is my least favorite part of sewing! Upon further inspection however, this could be due to me not having a proper cutting space. Right now I use a mat on the living room floor and have to constantly shoo away the kitties who think my beautiful fabric is a toy! Thank goodness for the dustbuster; it does a pretty good job of keeping them at bay.
Your dresses are gorgeous.

Ha! I suppose we all find inspiration in different ways...and what do you know, it does look like eggs stuffed in a condom. =) And who would have thought that would make a beautiful vase?
I love cutting fabric! I just cut into a new stash of linen...fun, fun, fun.
I cannot wait to see the kimono top...my husband feel in love with D+G on his last trip to Italy...oh so nice.
And no surprise your smock tops were snatched up so quickly. =)

I love everything Wanders(and MOOOI) does.
Beautiful fabric -can't wait to see what it becomes. I actually don't like the cutting out part so much. I like the contemplating the cutting though....

I like this vase, it made me think of clouds rather than eggs.
I have just seen your last post with your beautiful linen dresses - these are so wonderful, the screenprint is divine.
