A LITTLE BIT OF COLOURFUL

Colourful

Amazing what some sunshine does to how you see the world. The rain finally stopped, the sun has come out, the temperature has risen and the summer clothes have been bought out. About time.

With sunshine comes colour. Despite the lack of definite photos here - I know, sneek peeks are mean of me - work has been going on behind the scenes, albeit slowly. The last couple of weeks have been devoted to making a very special present for a very special friend's wedding. Now it's done, sent, and received and I can relax and concentrate on other things. I am loving some rich intense colour at the moment.

1. Flowers in the bathroom and the living room - simple flora, beautiful saturated colour against white.
2. Little Baby Shoes - from Lynn. You can squeal. Go on. Part of a little package she sent, just because. These shoes make me smile stupidly. Really gloriously stupidly. Lynn included a matching baby rattle too.
3. Material. Lots of material. Etsuko Furuya materials. This little one with little teeny tiny butterflies floating all over it. Cushions?
4. Oh go on, more Etsuko Furuya material. This little one with little teeny tiny spiders crawling all over it. Bedspread/cotspread?
5. One more shot, why not. I got these from Purl Soho, but for those living in Sydney, I have now found out Material Obsession are due to receive the full range any day now. I need backing fabrics don't I?
6. Slightly more material. White Design by Yoshiko Jinzenji. I love her quilt book on which this range is based as well. The print is large which has scared a few suppliers off, but it's beautiful and lightweight, architectural and rather nice in it's subtelty. A wrap for baby? A quilt? Something to just adore?
7. Vintage Liberty print dress - part of Lynn's package before. She saw this and thought of me.....this is just so sweet of her, and the material is great.
8. Monkeysuits Red Set Go (page 4) jacket for Petitie 6.5st for next year. Martas Yarn 12 ply variegated green wool, 5.5mm circulars, 2 large horn (plastic?) buttons. I've done this pattern before and it's simple, quick, and despite it's simplicity, looks really great on babies male and female.
9. Very special present for very special friend.

very nice.

I love the gauge and the nubbliness and the COLOR! of the knit jacket.

Oh yes - I recently splurged on a little bit of the Etsuko Furuya goodness. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make. I have no idea but just like looking at it!

Isn't the sunshine glorious? Can't wait to see what becomes of the fabrics - they are indeed gorgeous. Love the monkey suit - can't wait to give it a try!
