SLICE OF PARADISE
I know the sun shines on dreams and hopes at the other end.
I wrote that in January, when dreams and hopes seemed a long way off, but knowing they would come back soon. Sometimes taking a step back, allows possability to re-enter your life, and allows you to refocus on what is important and what you really want to see happen.
When we moved back to Australia, it was with some specific lifestyle ideas in mind. Not that we couldn't have done those in europe, it just would have been different, and not as 'easy'. One of those ideas, was to build our own house on the coast, as a weekender. It would be our little chance to be free architecturally, and do something for ourselves, to be used for ourselves, and be passed on to our children.
Welcome to our little slice of paradise - the trees are staying, the house will tread lightly and we're very excited.

Oh, how incredibly EXCITING, Alison! congratulations!

ah you won't know yourselves, having a weekender is like good medicine, however, tearing yourself away to come back to the city on sunday afternoons will be difficult!
All the best.

how dreamy! it's fantastic that you are building the house to tread lightly. some of my favourite architecture are people's "treehouses" near the ocean in australia. happy building!
