What I Really Did This Weekend
Last week I declared to anyone who would listen that I would accomplish the following on the weekend.
a) Sew up curtains for Master M's room which have been taunting me for a wee while now,
b) Finish at least a sleeve of Marshall,
and,
c) Get a rather large amount done on the Sheer Poncho.
I had every confidence I would achieve at least two of the things on the list. Our weekend was looking pretty fine, and then somewhere along the way I got distracted.
What I really achieved was the following:
a) A needle roll - something I have been desperately wanting to do for a few months. I finally got some really lusciously beautiful fabric in Melbourne, and took the plunge. And blow me down if I didn't finish the entire thing in one go without any tantrums or swearing. You have no idea what glee I have in finishing this - finished items are actually quite rare around here. Terrifically good at starting things, but not so good at finishing.
So here's a guided tour:

Then half opened,

Then fully opened - ta da!!!

b) 1 Meathead hat

c) Oooh, about, aherm, 2 rows of the Poncho.

And because the poncho photo will look like something not very poncho like, here's the ball of mohair, which actually looks like spun pubic hair in this photo but is actually quite soft.

d) And poor Marshall just seems to take bloody forever. We knit, and knit, and knit, and don't seem to get anywhere. Yet somehow I'm going through balls of wool.

e) Curtains? What curtains?
Next weekend, I intend to achieve all the things I didn't achieve this weekend. No doubt I'll get distracted by frivolity again, but at least then you can all check back in on Monday and be sure of a suprise. See, I do it all for you guys, to keep you on your toes.
My first secret pal parcel went off today, and I have to say I'm quite anxious about it. I'll feel mightily relieved once she has it.
I'm really freezing in here tonight, so I'm off to warm myself up.

You did an absolute heap!!! Knitting roll looks great- congratulations!
Somehow knitting with marta's mohair doesn't sound quite so appealing after your comment about the look of the photo... she does dye her hair lots of colours after all!!
