I've been interested in 'revealing the hidden' for a long time. It started with my thesis, and the idea of the revealed through transformation really appeals to my sense of the simple. I like to find hidden connections which ordinarily wouldn't be there, or mapped unless they were revealed either by accident or by manipulation.
This series of images will form part of another sub-series on here about mapping, culminating in a major excercise that I am developing. These first images are from my work diary: The calender page which is the real, the back of that page which is the real abstracted, and the following page where the ink seeped through creating abstract fingerprints of an essence of what was reality. In themselves they each hold a lovely balance of expression. All together they become an abstracted map of time.
These images were not created, they revelaed themselves to me over the passage of time.
